My name is Chantel, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). My journey into psychotherapy has been shaped by my background in Education, and Accessibility Support. I have a passion for understanding the ways our experiences, relationships, environments, and identities shape who we are. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French Studies, and my Bachelor of Education from Trent University before completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, where I graduated with Honours.

I have a particular interest in working with people who have experienced severe burnout, lifelong anxiety or depression, or who are navigating a period of change and trying to better understand who they are at this stage of their lives. I believe that therapy should be a space where you can show up as your authentic self: unmasked, comfortable, and free from judgment.

I provide individual, couples, and family counselling in a welcoming, sensory-friendly environment. My approach is holistic, creative, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and recovery-oriented. Together, we can explore both current stressors and past experiences while working toward healing, self-understanding, and growth. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Humanistic Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy.

I also bring both professional expertise and personal insight to my work with neurodivergent clients. If you are Autistic, have ADHD, BPD, OCD, or are wondering whether you may be neurodivergent, I aim to create a space where you don’t have to mask or change who you are to feel accepted. Whether that means using a fidget toy, moving your body, or taking off your shoes during a session, you are welcome just as you are. ___

Areas Of Practice

My areas of interest include severe burnout, anxiety and depression, grief, life transitions, caregiver burnout, traumatic brain injuries, chronic illness and disability, LGBTQIA+ experiences, and neurodivergence.

I have a particular interest in supporting Autistic and ADHD individuals and those exploring their neurodivergent identity. My background and lived experience has given me the opportunity to support people with a variety of developmental, cognitive, and mental health needs.

My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Therapy doesn’t have to look one way, we can work together to find an approach that fits you, your needs, and the person you are.

I am grateful and blessed to enjoy my work as a Registered Massage Therapist and be able to help people de-stress, heal from injuries, and be proactive about their health. I grew up in Lindsay, and it has been a pleasure to meet so many people from the Kawartha Lakes area and be a part of their wellness goals.

I knew that my career of choice would be “hands on”, but I didn’t always know just how literal that would turn out to be. The experience of having massage therapy treatments for myself, combined with my interest in physical fitness and anatomy, led me to the decision to go into the field of Massage Therapy. After 3 years of study, I graduated with honours from the massage therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. I am a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO) and as a Registered Massage Therapist, I hold a certificate of registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).

I am experienced in working with a wide variety of clientele and people trust me to be professional and effective with treating their condition. My easy going personality and calm nature lends itself well to making people feel comfortable and relaxed.

I am sincere in wanting to make your massage therapy session an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. When people come to see me, they have a goal of feeling better. My mission is to get people to that goal. I am interested in your desired outcome for treatment and your expectations. This is how I provide quality care. I listen to your specific needs, and combine that with my expertise to get you results.

My clients share their positive outcomes from their massage treatments with family, friends, and co-workers and encourage them to experience for themselves the benefits to their health and well-being that massage therapy can provide. Their recommendation to others to book an appointment with me has been one of the greatest compliments I’ve received.

As a Registered Physiotherapist in Ontario, I bring over seven years of hospital-based clinical experience from leading multidisciplinary hospitals in India, including Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy, specializing in Musculoskeletal Sciences, with a strong foundation in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological, and complex medical conditions.

Whether you’re struggling with persistent neck or back pain, recovering from a sports injury or surgery, experiencing joint stiffness, dealing with muscle tightness, or working to regain strength and mobility after a major health event, my goal is to help you move better, feel better, and get back to doing the things you enjoy.

Throughout my career, I have treated patients with a diverse range of conditions, including spinal disorders, joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, amputations, stroke, spinal cord injuries, cardiopulmonary conditions, and post-traumatic injuries. My experience also includes intensive and critical care settings, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, pelvic floor dysfunction, and oncology rehabilitation.

My approach to physiotherapy goes beyond simply treating the painful area. I focus on understanding the root of the problem, identifying what may be limiting your movement or daily activities, and developing a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Depending on your condition and needs, treatment may include hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, soft-tissue techniques, movement retraining, gait and balance training, and practical advice to help you manage your symptoms and prevent recurrence.

I have experience with a variety of manual therapy approaches, including myofascial and trigger-point techniques, active and positional release techniques, Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), neural mobilization, and McKenzie- and Mulligan-based treatment approaches. I integrate these techniques with evidence-informed exercise and functional rehabilitation to help patients improve mobility, manage pain, and build confidence in their movement.

Having worked in busy inpatient and outpatient hospital environments, I understand that every patient has a different story, different challenges, and different goals. I value listening, clear communication, and working collaboratively with patients and other healthcare professionals to make rehabilitation as effective and meaningful as possible.

My philosophy is simple: physiotherapy should help you do more than feel better during your appointment — it should help you feel more confident in everyday life. Whether your goal is to sit at your desk without back pain, climb the stairs more comfortably, return to the gym, recover after surgery, or simply enjoy your daily activities with less discomfort, I’m here to support you along the way.

Outside the treatment room, I remain committed to continuous learning and professional development so I can keep expanding my skills and bring new knowledge into patient care.

At Kawartha Therapeutic Clinic, I look forward to working with you, understanding your goals, and helping you take the next step toward a healthier, stronger, and more active life.

Let’s work together to get you moving better and back to doing what you love!
